Like a winter stream, it embodied a chilled, even wounded exterior with a vibrant current running steadily just underneath. The scattered, newly-borne consciousness couldn’t decipher whether the icy chime was more akin to a laugh or a sob.}"

Born within a void, Remi's first memories were very disjointed. His only guide was a voice and a soft teal glow pulsing gently at the bottom of the chain around his neck in the form of a dreamcatcher necklace. Forced to acclimatize quickly to his environment in order to survive, he eventually learned he was an exceedingly rare being called a dream eater and that he resided in the Illusory Realm, an ephemeral plane of existence where the dreams of the waking world materialize and fade into the mists.Humans who visit the realm in their sleep exist at the whim and mercy of their own dream and unconscious mind. They also become vulnerable to interference from lesser demons known as Oneiroi, beings who wander between dreams feeding and destabilizing them into nightmares over time. While some dream eaters choose to feed off of human dreams as well, Remi instead chooses to help free humans from their nightmares. He is positive-minded but also quite lonely, as the people he frees return to the waking world and move on while he can never touch that world himself.
